Animation is an amazing thing. Show me someone who is indifferent to cartoons! Did you ever try to draw some object in a notepad that changes its state or place by steps from leaf to leaf...and then flick through it quickly? You definitely should if you do not. From the production side this is science, invention and art all together. Of course I'm far from big animation like Disney's, but I'm proud of these, my little science-invention-art works. I cannot explain all the feelings you can get on the different stages of animation creation, but I can say this is a miracle almost like child birth. With computers, animation becomes easier and adds more dimensions with time - classic animation is 2-dimensional, 3D animation takes all the best from it's parent but gives us new inventions that definitely change the world and the people in it. And mostly this is good change. Classical animation was made to make people smile or laugh. And I'm really glad it's evolved the same way in general giving us nice moments of happiness.
